There is a lot of talk on home remedies! For all kinds of problems whether pimples, fever, cold cough, stuffy nose, chicken pox, wound care etc one finds a whole lot of information in the media. Does it mean doing the home remedy will solve the health issue? The answer is ‘NO’.
Home remedy is essentially steps that a person or patient can do at home to support along with the actual medication that an Ayurvedic physician is administering.
And so home remedies can be called self supportive methods.
Here is a list of self supportive or home remedies:
- Boiled water of Jeera and Ginger
- Having dry roasted coriander powder, curry leaves, jeera for indigestion.
- Doing a sitz bath of Carom seeds boiled water as a way to relieve pain in Piles.
- Frying Amba haldi in oil and creating a paste with water, applying on swollen joints to reduce swelling and pain.
But please remember these are small supportive techniques, that cannot replace actual diagnosis, or actual treatment, such as what kind of indigestion, or what kind of joint disorders is present, and what is the actual treatment for the disorder.
Definitely doing a home remedy is effective for a short term problem, or for a quick relief. But it does not replace actual treatment with Ayurvedic medicines or procedures.
Hence it is recommended to do a home remedy only after consulting an Ayurvedic Physician.
